We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants and Support workers to work at Leicester based Special Needs Schools. The role involves working 1:1 with children with Extremely Challenging Behaviour, Autism, ADHD, Aggression, SEMH, PMLD, Looked After Children, CSE/CSA, those who are at risk of harm to themselves or others as well as individuals with Attachment difficulties.

Due to the children’s requirements/ personal circumstances experienced support workers (Mental Health, care and youth), security, residential, SEN trained TAs, children’s services and sports coaches will be favoured.

Applications from Psychology and Criminology graduates as well as individuals who have personal experience supporting vulnerable individuals are also encouraged.

Care workers from social care back grounds and those with personal experience will also be considered

About the role:

  • Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN requirements
  • Managing and implementing appropriate structures to manage challenging behaviour
  • Acting like a positive role model and providing nurture support
  • Providing numeracy and literacy booster sessions out of the classroom
  • De-escalating heightened and volatile situations.
  • You will be supporting across Primary and Secondary phases

The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour in an education or Support setting.

Candidates who have personal experience working with challenging behaviour, mental health, SEMH and Autism are encouraged to apply.

This is a Temp role but will become permanent for the right candidate
