Macildowie Recruitment & Retention Procurement, Supply Chain & LogisticsPurchasing Manager (In-Directs) - Up to £50,000 Per AnnumMonday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm - LeicesterMacildowie Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics is delighted to have exclusively partnered with a reputable and family ran organisation to recruit a Purchasing Manager based at our client's Leicester office.The key objective is to lead on the strategic element of our client's procurement function which includes building and growing supplier relationships as well as managing all of the businesses In-Direct Procurement spend.Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a team, driving a high performance culture internally.
  • Oversee a diverse range of strategic procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, contract management, negotiation and tender management, whilst considering ESG factors.
  • Identify, evaluate and negotiate with material suppliers to ensure the best possible price, delivering on product quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise costs and maintain stock levels.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Staying ahead of the curve with market trends, price fluctuations and new materials.
  • Manage an end-to-end supply chain whilst mitigating risks related to the supply chain including price volatility and supplier reliability.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, track purchase orders and report on purchasing performance to stakeholders in the wider group.
  • Champion continuous improvement and change management, supporting and driving the overall procurement transformation journey to shape a best-in-class procurement function.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience operating in a senior leadership procurement position.
  • A demonstrated procurement background in In-Direct Procurement.
  • Able to commute to Leicester.
  • Comfortable user of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Effective communicator and comfortable liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable presenting stock/procurement related spreadsheets to stakeholders.
  • Understand of land/building regulations - Desirable.
