Sonic Summary
- We are looking for a skilled Tool Maker to join our dynamic team, responsible for designing, fabricating, and assembling mould tools primarily for the injection mould tool sector.
- The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with CNC and manual machining techniques, as well as proficiency in CAD software, preferably Visi by Hexagon.
- This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with engineers to develop tooling solutions for new products.
- The position offers a salary range of £12.00-£17.00 per hour, with additional yearly bonuses and benefits such as a company pension and on-site parking.
- Candidates should ideally have experience in tooling design and manufacturing, particularly for plastics injection moulding applications.
Duties
Manufacture tooling according to specifications.
Assemble and test tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
Program and set CNC milling, lathe and EDM machines to process all component within a mould.
Operate milling machines, lathes, and grinding equipment.
Utilise hand tools for fine adjustments and finishing touches on tools.
Collaborate with engineers to develop tooling solutions for new products.
Maintain and repair existing tools to extend their lifespan and functionality.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the workshop.
Document all processes and modifications made during tool fabrication.
Skills
Proficient in CAD software, ideally Visi but training can be given if you're used to another software.
Strong ability to manufacture moulds using various machining techniques.
Experience in tooling design, particularly for plastics injection moulding applications would be an advantage.
Competence in assembling complex mechanical systems.
Familiarity with milling, grinding, and other machining processes.
Skilled in using hand tools for detailed work.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
