We are looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Services Engineer to join a major infrastructure project on a contract basis. This role offers a great opportunity to work within a high-impact environment, contributing to complex engineering solutions.

Location: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days per week on-site (Devonport or Bristol)
Contract Length: 34 weeks
Rate: 48 - 65 per hour (umbrella, inside IR35)
Security Clearance: Minimum BPSS with the ability to upgrade to SC & NNPPI (Sole British Nationals only)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Discipline Lead in delivering electrical engineering work packages.
  • Manage technical deliverables, ensuring they align with project scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Prepare and/or review designs, analyses, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Support the development of technical solutions and participate in problem-solving.
  • Supervise junior staff and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, particularly within highly regulated environments.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline, ideally with Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry, ideally nuclear
  • Background in highly technical building projects.
  • Knowledge of electrical building services, including fire detection, lighting, HVAC, and site broadcast (PA) systems.
  • Strong understanding of project management, quality assurance, and engineering design practices.

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
