Location: Warrington or Bristol (3 days onsite per week)

Are you a seasoned Process Engineer with extensive experience in high-hazard industries? Looking to be part of a team delivering cutting-edge nuclear engineering solutions? We're recruiting on behalf of a major organisation in the nuclear sector looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Principal Process Engineer.

The Opportunity:

As part of the Engineering, Technical and Specialist Capability function, you'll manage the delivery of technical and design activities on a wide range of nuclear projects-from initial concept through to completion. This includes involvement in feasibility studies, design reviews, plant modifications, and hazard studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering standards, codes, and best practices to all technical deliverables
  • Produce and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
  • Supervise junior engineers and designers
  • Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, and design risk assessments
  • Lead or support HAZOPs, design reviews, and change management
  • Ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout project lifecycles

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Chemical, Process)
  • Chartered Engineer status or demonstrable experience working at CEng level
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering work packages
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and safety frameworks in the nuclear or similar industries
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Background in delivering full-lifecycle EPC projects
  • Experience across commercial and defence-related projects
