The successful candidate will be involved in a range of accounting duties including bank reconciliations, assisting with purchase and sales ledger operations, nominal ledger reconciliations, and contributing to month-end processes. What you'll do:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation. Your day-to-day tasks will involve processing supplier invoices, reconciling bank statements, raising customer invoices, chasing overdue payments, performing balance sheet reconciliations, handling petty cash transactions, and assisting with month-end accounting procedures. You will also support internal and external audits when required. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel will be essential for success in this role.
* Processing supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate coding (Accounts Payable)
* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any invoice/payment discrepancies
* Raising customer invoices and allocating incoming payments, including processing of client bonuses (Accounts Receivable)
* Chasing overdue payments and assisting with credit control
* Daily bank reconciliations and posting transactions across multiple accounts
* Performing balance sheet reconciliations
* Handling petty cash and company credit card transactions
* Assisting with month-end accounting procedures
* Supporting internal and external audits as needed
* Ensuring records are accurate and maintained in line with company policies
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Accounts Assistant position brings previous experience in a similar finance role. You have a solid understanding of finance and accounting processes which you've gained through your professional journey. Your high attention to detail coupled with strong organisational skills sets you apart from others. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with familiarity with other finance software/systems is expected. Above all, you are a positive team player who approaches work proactively and flexibly.
