Aspion are recruiting for a Conversion Machine Operator to set up and run conversion machinery used to slit, macro-punch, and micro-perforate a range of plastic films.

You will work safely and efficiently in line with site standards, ensuring high-quality output that meets customer specifications throughout every production run.

Full training will be provided, but previous experience as a machine operator or machine setter is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up slitting machinery to perform slitting, hole punching, and hot-needle perforation according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain product quality throughout production, including regular sampling and quality checks.
  • Operate processes using lean manufacturing techniques to maximise machine efficiency.
  • Bag, label, and palletise slit reels in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Use line-side computer systems to follow schedules and production plans.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with the site “clean as you go” policy.
  • Complete daily production reports, including output, weight, and meterage calculations.
  • Work in compliance with all site health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • The ability to work to production schedules and priorities.

  • Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends.

Shift Pattern (4-Week Continental Rotation, 12-Hour Shifts)

  • Week 1: 4 nights, 3 off
  • Week 2: 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights
  • Week 3: 3 off, 4 days
  • Week 4: 7 off
