We are recruiting for a Credit Controller/Accounts Administrator to join a well established and growing company based in Leighton Buzzard.
Working Hours: 8:00am- 17:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Location: Leighton Buzzard, fully office based - NO REMOTE WORKING.
Contract Type: Temp to perm.
Overview:
- This is an exciting opportunity to join the finance team as an Accounts Assistant, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the company’s financial operations. Approximately 50% of your role will focus on credit control, with the remaining time spent supporting the accounts team. The company’s ledger is in a strong position, allowing you to focus on maintaining excellent relationships with customers while helping streamline financial processes.

Duties/Key Responsibilities:
Credit Control (50%):

- Daily posting of bank transactions and reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Timely and effective collection of outstanding debts and customer payments.
- Build rapport with customers, ensuring clear communication regarding invoice payments.
- Resolve queries with both customers and internal teams.
- Liaising with the Area Sales Managers regarding status of relevant customer accounts.
- Monitor and update the aged debtor report, prioritising key debts for follow-up.
- Maintain records with all customer communications.
- Escalate challenging cases or customers in financial difficulty to the Company Accountant.
Accounts Admin (50%)

- Process and code purchase invoices.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with cash forecasting to support company financial planning.
- Perform data entry tasks including customs declarations, private mileage claims and any ad hoc tasks.
- Provide general administrative support for the finance team, ensuring smooth department operations.
Skills/Experience Required:

- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role.
- Actively studying towards AAT or part-qualified - preferred, not essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with Dynamics 365 (preferred).
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
