Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Contact Lens Technician to join their specialist team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or continue a career in a niche manufacturing environment. You’ll play a vital role in producing high-quality contact lenses, ensuring all production deadlines are met, and maintaining the strict standards of cleanliness required in a sterile work environment.

Your responsibilities as a Contact Lens Technician will include but are not limited to:

  • Manufacturing contact lenses with precision and care, ensuring they meet company quality standards.
  • Prioritising and managing production schedules, focusing on overdue and urgent orders.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and tidy working area at all times.
  • Performing regular cleaning duties, including equipment wipe-downs and hoover maintenance.
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or production issues to the line manager.

To be a successful Contact Lens Technician, you must have:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly line environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with working in a clinical or sterile setting would be advantageous.
  • Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and remain self-motivated.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Capable of maintaining focus in a structured, process-driven environment.
  • Comfortable working in an environment without natural light.
