Job OverviewWe are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious On-Site Driver / Yard Operative to support daily yard operations, vehicle movement, and general duties around the site. This role involves the safe and efficient manoeuvring of vehicles within the premises, assisting with loading/unloading, and maintaining yard organization and cleanliness.
Duties
- Safely drive and maneuver vehicles within the yard or site as required.
- Carry out vehicle movements to and from bays, parking areas, and workshop areas.
- Assist with loading and unloading operations where required.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects or issues promptly.
- Support yard organisation: ensure vehicles, trailers, and equipment are correctly positioned.
- Assist with general yard housekeeping and basic site maintenance.
- Comply with all company health & safety policies and site-specific procedures.
- Liaise with yard, warehouse, and transport teams to ensure smooth operation.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 3 points
- Over 21 years of age for insurance purposes
- Previous experience in a yard, driving, or transport role preferred.
- Ability to operate vehicles safely in tight spaces.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of vehicle safety checks.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
- Flexibility to work shifts or weekends if required.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00am - 17:00pm or 08:00am - 18:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Pay: £12.21-£13.46 per hour
