Role Summary

The successful candidate will be involved in the production and development of GRP automotive components, including tool and mould making, pattern grading, and lamination. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining accurate patterns, preparing moulds, and assisting in the manufacture of prototypes and final parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and maintain GRP moulds and tools used in the production of mouldings.
  • Lay up and grade patterns according to design specifications.
  • Trim, finish, and repair GRP parts as needed.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings or CAD models.
  • Ensure all components meet dimensional and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams on new product development.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during mould preparation or lamination.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience with GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) materials and processes.
  • Skilled in tool making, pattern grading, and laying.
  • Good understanding of composite moulding techniques.
  • Able to work with hand tools and basic workshop machinery.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the automotive or related composite manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety requirements in a production environment.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8am to 4:30pm
