My client, a leading tier 1 contractor currently requires a Section Engineer to assist them in their Eastern Region. These works are a large infrastructure project initially working on road projects in Harwich and Leiston.

Daily Duties but not limited to:

  • Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities / issues with the project.
  • Develop knowledge and ability in completing hazard / risk assessments and method statements, including alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods therein.
  • Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
  • Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
  • Manage sectional setting out requirements on site.
  • Manage the sectional service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
  • Assist the QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.
  • Manage the as built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.

The ideal candidate for thismust have good and extensive setting out experience working on infrastructure projects including highways, roads and earthworks and must be capable of working with Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring information from AutoCAD to the surveying equipment. Additionally a good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance process is needed and should have good leadership skills and a good understanding of construction practices.
