Our client, a prominent player in the construction industry, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team for the Sizewell C project. This is a permanent position ideally suited for professionals with significant experience in quantity surveying within the highways or civil infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects from the initial calculations to the final figures
- Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
- Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
- Performing risk and value management and cost control
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
- Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
- Allocating work to subcontractors and providing advice on contractual claims
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in quantity surveying, particularly in highways or civil infrastructure
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Proven experience in managing costs on large-scale construction projects
- Ability to interpret detailed design drawings and specifications
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Membership of a relevant professional organisation (e.g., RICS) is advantageous
