gap construction are delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-owned builder with almost a century of proud history, in their search for a skilled Bench Joiner to join their exceptional in-house team. The successful candidate will become part of a friendly, close-knit team based in the heart of Hertfordshire.
Performance Objectives
CAD Interpretation: Confidently read and understand 2D and 3D CAD drawings to interpret specifications and client requirements.
Document Comprehension: Read and follow manufacturing documents such as cutting lists and factory orders.
Assembly Communication: Receive clear assembly instructions from the Assembly Team Leader, including critical details and preferred manufacturing approaches.
Issue Reporting: Highlight and report any issues identified during the assembly process to the Team Leader.
Tool Usage: Operate hand tools such as trimmers and manual tools including chisels.
Material Knowledge: Work with a variety of materials including MFC, MFMDF, sprayed elements, veneered elements, and solid wood.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets the company's high-quality standards.
PPE Compliance: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Person Specification
Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the woodworking industry.
Tools: Must have own joinery tools.
Joinery Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic joinery assembly practices and timber material specifications.
Factory Experience: Previous experience in a factory or workshop environment is advantageous.
