Our client is now looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team in Letchworth Garden City, leading a talented group of engineers while remaining technically involved in innovative product development.
About the Role
As Engineering Manager, you'll take responsibility for both technical leadership and team development within the engineering department. You'll guide design and development activities, oversee project delivery, and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices. This is a hands-on leadership role - you'll still be expected to engage with design, review technical work, and contribute your expertise in electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of electronic and embedded engineers.
- Provide technical direction and oversight across all stages of product development.
- Remain hands-on with design, testing, and problem solving in electronics and embedded systems.
- Work closely with project management and operations to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage resourcing, recruitment, and personal development within the team.
About You
- Proven experience in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
- Strong background in electronic circuit design, embedded systems, or hardware development.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement.
