Role Specification 

A Senior Management Team position reporting directly to the Managing Director with responsibility to  manage and improve the organisation’s financial performance and direct our accounting operations. 

The Financial Manager will play a key role in assisting the strategy moving forward.

You will be translating business strategy into plans and establishing KPI’s and targets, evaluating the financial implications of various strategic decisions and identifying risks and driving results.  

Key Duties & Responsibilities  


  • Responsibility for and control of the financial figures (stock value, data accuracy) within the ERP system including cost management. 

  • Responsibility for all areas of the balance sheet including timely preparation of balance sheet  reconciliations.  

  • Full knowledge and mapping and continuous improvement of all financial processes.  

  • Main point of contact for the external auditors.  

  • Responsibility for all areas of tax – liaise with external advisors for VAT & Corporation tax returns.  

  • Production of ad-hoc financial reports as necessary.  

  • Continuous improvement of all financial processes.  

  • Responsibility for daily cashflow and working capital management. 

  • Responsible for monthly payroll process.  

  • Managing company car fleet.  

  • Managing company insurances  

  • Support implementation of ERP functions, including documentation of key controls.  

  • Manage Credit Control activities and credit limits.  

Month End Reporting  

  • Full responsibility for the production/review of Month End reporting pack including management and group reporting, working to deadlines (monthly, quarterly, annually)  

  • Review of the month end management pack with senior team members and wider group.

Commercial Finance  

  • Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with other departments for  insights on sales and cost trend analysis.  

  • Analyze and interpret data to drive better quality business decision making. 


Qualities & Attributes  

  • Ideally Qualified - ACA / ACCA / CIMA – Could be qualified by experience (QBE).  

  • Excel skills – Experienced user – comfortable with basic functions such as pivot tables,  VLOOKUP’s, SUMIF etc.  

  • Self-organised and reach deadlines without the need for management intervention.  

  • Team Player. 

  • Great Presentation skills at different levels 

  • Excellent people & communication skills

  • Must live within commutable distance from Letchworth Garden City (hybrid working considered) and have the right to work in the UK
