Finance Operations Manager

Location: North Chailey (Hybrid/Onsite)

Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

The Role

They’re looking for a Finance Operations Manager to lead their day-to-day financial operation. You'll oversee their accounts payable and receivable processes, cash flow, VAT, reconciliations, and team leadership — ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and strong financial control across the board.

  • Leading and developing a small, dedicated team across AP and AR functions
  • Managing payment cycles, credit control, supplier relationships, and internal queries
  • Overseeing reconciliations, VAT returns, fixed assets, and financial controls
  • Monitoring cash flow and producing forecasts for strategic planning
  • Supporting audits and ensuring their systems and policies remain robust
  • Driving improvements and streamlining processes through technology and automation
  • Collaborating with colleagues to strengthen insight, efficiency, and delivery

Skills and Qualifications

  • A relevant finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) or working towards one
  • Experience leading finance operations within a medium-sized organisation
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR, reconciliations, cash flow, and VAT
  • Skilled in managing people, systems, and process change
  • Confident communicator, able to explain financial data to non-finance audiences
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Sage, Access, or similar finance systems (desirable)
