Temporary Finance Team Leader (3-month FTC)

Location: North Chailey, East Sussex (hybrid working considered)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum. DOE

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (3-month initial fixed-term)

The Role

They’re now looking for a Temporary Finance Team Leader to support their small, dedicated Finance team during a key period leading up to year-end.

This is a hands-on, supervisory-level role, ideal for someone with a solid understanding of transactional finance who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and supporting day-to-day operations.

You’ll support and coordinate the day-to-day work of their Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, while assisting with treasury tasks and data clean-up activities. You won’t be managing the team formally but will act as a go-to person for queries, guidance, and continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee the end-to-end AP process, from invoice to payment
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure policy-aligned payments
  • Provide support and cover for the Accounts Payable Coordinator

Accounts Receivable

  • Monitor customer accounts and support timely collections
  • Review sales orders and invoice conversion
  • Reconcile donation and sales income (e.g. café and LSC takings)
  • Provide cover while the AR Coordinator focuses on database preparations

Treasury & Reconciliations

  • Assist with daily cash flow and banking
  • Prepare and review cash forecasts
  • Monitor bank reconciliations
  • Support month-end balance sheet reconciliations, including payroll (desirable)

Project & Data Work

  • Support data clean-up and preparation activities ahead of year-end
  • Assist in transitioning AR data to their new contracts and fees database

Skills and Qualifications

  • You’re experienced in transactional finance operations and enjoy taking the lead to keep things moving.
  • You bring a proactive, methodical approach and are confident guiding others while staying hands-on.
  • Experience with AP, AR, and reconciliations is key, and an eye for data accuracy will serve you well.
