A wonderful mid-sized nursery in Uckfield is looking for a passionate Early Years Teacher to join its dedicated team. The successful candidate will earn between £28,000 and £30,200 per year, depending on experience. Our nursery is child-focused, offering a harmonious and calm environment with free-flow outdoor learning. Parents are highly supportive of our educational approach, and our floor-based Manager will be on hand to help you integrate your planning ideas into our routine.

 

We ideally seek someone to work 40 hours per week, though part-time options are available. The nursery operates year-round and offers free nearby parking with easy access to main bus routes.



Your responsibilities will include:

 

Build strong relationships with children and families, becoming an integral part of their development.

  • Leading the classroom team, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and teaching.
  • Plan appropriate materials in line with the EYFS
  • Acting as a key person, offering guidance and mentorship to staff.
  • Support children in developing independence and learning new skills.

  • Plan engaging activities with minimal paperwork, ensuring more time with the children.

 

What you'll need to succeed

 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the early years sector.
  • Hold Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A confident, articulate, and passionate approach to early years education.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and statutory framework.
  • Forest School qualifications or an interest in Montessori education would be beneficial.
