Cost of Living Community Worker | Lewes District, East Sussex | Part Time – 10 hours per week | Remote Working | £9,274 pro rata (£34,314 FTE)

We are the Voluntary Action for Eastbourne, Lewes and Wealden. We enable and support community groups, voluntary organisations and individuals across East Sussex to improve quality of life and equality of opportunity for everyone. We represent and advocate for the voluntary and community sector with local government and other statutory authorities.

3VA is seeking an experienced Community Development Worker to deliver the project, which is funded by Lewes District Council, to deliver Cost of Living support to VCSE groups and volunteers in Lewes District.

3VA will coordinate and deliver

  • a Cost-of-Living Network, including quarterly Cost of Living Poverty Action Group (COLPAG) meetings
  • Lewes District Community Register and
  • Best Practice Resource Bank
  • training and resource support for community spaces organisers and volunteers

Please note- This role is based in Lewes District, East Sussex, with hybrid working arrangements—working from home and within local communities. The role requires travel within the Lewes area and across East Sussex.

What will your role look like?

  • Promote 3VA membership to new and existing community and voluntary groups
  • Collaborate with 3VA colleagues to develop and enhance the member offer, including alliances, features, and benefits
  • Include progression to appropriate membership levels in group development reviews and support
  • Contribute to the development of 3VA’s resources by producing articles for the website, newsletter, and briefing papers
  • Participate in 3VA volunteer and community events
