Job Title: Line Leader (early OR late shifts)
Location: Leyland, Lancashire
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Salaries:
• Earlies: £24,297 p/a (£467.25 per week subject to tax and NI - £12.75 p/h)
• Lates: £25,369.50 p/a (£487.88 per week subject to tax and NI - £13.01 p/h)
Hours: 6am – 2pm (set shift) OR 2pm – 10pm (set shift) 37.5 hour working week
Term: 12-week temporary to permanent role
Pay: Weekly
The Line leader is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process on the production line. The Line Leader is responsible for leading a team to achieve production targets and ensure smooth operations on the production line. Working with the Supervisor, the Line Leader optimises the efficiency of the production process, ensuring that products are made efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.
Duties / areas of responsibility:
- Set up and operate production lines with the assistance of Technicians department (where required)
- Assign workers production line tasks
- Lead and supervise a team of production personnel (both permanent and temporary staff) to ensure production targets are met
- Manage/coach production workers in effectively completing tasks in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs
- Ensure full compliance with Company policies and industry regulations ie; Quality, Health and Safety at Work and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Effectively utilise colleagues when assigning tasks, including during periods of downtime
- Train and mentor new production line workers on procedures and safety protocols
- Maintain equipment and machinery to ensure smooth running of production line
- Monitor production line efficiency and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that production goals are met and orders are completed on time
- Carry out quality checks and complete the necessary paperwork to track and record line efficiency
- Identify production line issues quickly and find ways to resolve them so that deadlines are still met without compromising quality with the support of the Supervisor & Engineers
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
