Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical Bias

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer for a global business to work out of their Leyland plant to ensure their production site operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maintaining our high standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Implement daily, weekly, and monthly inspection routines to identify and rectify issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on single and 3-phase electrical systems, 24V control systems, and instrumentation.
- Handle maintenance and repairs on various types of pumps, agitators, presses, valves, and pipework systems.
- Ensure the site's compliance with statutory requirements such as emergency lighting, legionella control, and PAT testing for new items.
- Provide input for process modifications and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance site performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- HNC/ONC in Engineering, or equivalent, with relevant experience in manufacturing and a good knowledge of factory operations.
- Time-served electrical apprenticeship, fully compliant with 18th Edition IEE, testing and inspection, and CompEX regulations.
- Time-served mechanical apprenticeship.
- Proficient in repairing and maintaining pumps, valves, gearboxes, chain & belt drives, conveying systems, palletisers, and filling lines.
- Skilled in fault finding, reading electrical drawings, and rewiring 24V, single and 3-phase equipment.
- Excellent communication, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in an ATEX environment and a good working knowledge of PLC's & SCADA systems, particularly Allen Bradley & Wonderware systems, is highly advantageous.
