Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Location: Leyland
Role Overview:
Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and the Operator's Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain, and repair vehicles, plant, and equipment.
- Perform diagnostics and specialist repairs.
- Attend roadside breakdowns and recover vehicles.
- Maintain accurate service records.
- Keep the workshop clean and safe.
- Order parts and liaise with suppliers.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations.
- Support apprentices and participate in training.
- Engage professionally with the public.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Experience in fabrication, welding, and cutting.
Team & Organisational Expectations:
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Support inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
- Comply with GDPR, equality, and safety policies.
- Represent the organisation positively.
Requirements:
- Full driving licence with category C1.
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and diagnostics.
- Strong planning, organisation, and adaptability.
- Commitment to flexible working and customer service.
- Qualified to Level 3 in Heavy Vehicles Maintenance
