We're currently recruiting for a 1:1 Support Teacher to work closely with a pupil with SEN at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leyland. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a rewarding role where your experience, adaptability, and nurturing approach will help shape a young learner's school experience.

In this role, you'll work alongside the SENCO and wider school team to deliver tailored lessons and interventions that meet the child's academic, emotional, and social needs. Whether you've supported pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, global developmental delay, or behavioural challenges your insight will be valued and supported here.

Essential Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with pupils having Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Proficient in managing challenging behaviour and providing support to the class teacher.
  • Capable of aiding teachers and staff in establishing a conducive learning atmosphere for children dealing with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledgeable about autism spectrum disorders.
  • Availability of two professional references to validate recent work experience with SEN children.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic coupled with a positive outlook.
  • Possession of an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is unavailable).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
  • Lesson/work planning for the students you are working with
  • Utilise learning schemes in order to progress your student's learning
  • Report back to parents and teachers regarding the students progress
  • Supporting children's physical, social and emotional well-being
  • Completion of daily records for pupils
  • Classroom preparation for the following school day
