If these questions strike a chord, you may be interested in this Health, Safety and Environment Advisor position, joining their high-profile logistics and distribution hub in Lichfield. A large and busy operation, they handle around 500 vehicles each night across multiple warehouses. You'll report to the general manager and play a key part in how the night shift runs, supporting a team that works with more than a hundred external hauliers and a workforce of several hundred people.
Responsibilities of the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will include:
- Making sure the right policies and procedures are in place across the warehouse, distribution sites, offices, and field teams, and encouraging good safety practice.
- Helping to develop and strengthen the wider health and safety approach during night shifts.
- Running risk assessments, audits, site checks, and incident investigations, and turning the findings into clear actions for fleet, facilities, and field teams.
- Working with internal teams and contractors to keep safety standards steady across
busy and varied sites.
The successful Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will have:
- Ideally some experience within the Health and Safety industry ideally across the transport, logistics or distribution environment.
- The confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum.
