Are you an experienced HSQE leader ready to drive transformational change in a dynamic, high-performing construction business?

We are working with an innovative company based in Staffordshire who are recruiting a Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE)Manager to take the lead on developing and executing strategy across safety, quality, and environmental functions, ensuring robust compliance and a proactive culture of continuous improvement. This is a strategic, hands-on role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HSQE function by shaping and delivering a long-term strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, ISO standards (45001, 9001, 14001), and third-party certifications.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and sustainability through robust frameworks and employee engagement.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency planning.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and quality through CAPA systems, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and operational teams to integrate HSQE across all areas of the business.

Experience and Qualifications required:

  • NEBOSH, IOSH & IEMA qualified; Chartered or Certified status (e.g., CMIOSH, CIQ, IEMA).
  • Proven leadership in a senior HSQE role – ideally within complex, high-risk, or multi-site environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSQE standards, legislation, and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience with ISO certifications, continuous improvement methodologies, and audit readiness.
