Founded in 2018, Distinctive is a fast growing grocery sourcing business, supplying British retailers with differentiated products that customers truly value. The UK grocery market has been going through a massive transformation and Distinctive is on a mission to make shopping more exciting and to help retailers and brands grow faster throughout this process.

Managed by a team of highly experienced ex-retailers that have set out to transform the way products reach customers; we deliver ambient and chilled, food and non-food products to our UK retail customers. We are expanding rapidly and are constantly looking for the right people to join our team.

The Account Executive will play a fundamental role in the growth of Distinctive. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and shape a role and a team.


Responsibilities

This is a hugely diverse and varied role. The purpose of this role is to develop and manage product offers and work closely with our clients and suppliers to improve sales performance and service. This will involve:

  • Monitoring performance metrics to measure against financial goals
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, new product launches and competitor activities
  • Developing customer propositions for on-going and seasonal events
  • Preparing product range reviews
  • Preparing and leading suppliers and customers meetings


In order to succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Background in grocery retail or consumer goods and understand basic concepts in this sector
  • Ability to work independently and in an ambiguous environment
  • Have strong excel skills
  • Good team player willing to roll up their sleeves


Location

  • Our office is based in Lichfield and the ideal candidate will be Midland based
  • Work is hybrid and some travel necessary so a UK driving license is required
