Multi-skilled Engineer– Days

£48,000 - £52,000 Plus Excellent Benefits

My client is a multiple award-winning manufacturer of bespoke products to the highest recognised industry standards. They work closely with each customer and build lasting relationships through trusted quality, exceptional service

They have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer to be responsible for the maintenance function as well as overseeing the team to ensure equipment and machine availability through PPM and servicing.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Production, the Multi-skilled Engineer will lead, support and mentor the team ensuring they are working in a safe and efficient manner.

You will also:

  • Assist with emergency and unplanned issues & repairs
  • Diagnose breakdown issues including the use of electrical/pneumatic drawings
  • Ensure PPM and asset care checks are carried out within the agreed time schedules
  • Build good working relationships with the production team and
  • Communicate effectively in relation to maintenance plans and updates on machinery
  • Ensure sufficient technical cover is available for the production shifts
  • Organise and direct the training program for the team
  • Adapt and maintain the PPM schedule
  • Manage the asset care paperwork and start up sheets.
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement team to reduce machine fails and downtime
  • Help identify opportunities for improvement in the equipment maintainability and reliability
  • Reduce the cost of non-conformance.

The Candidate

The Multi-skilled Engineer appointed to this role will be an apprenticeship trained or time-served multi-skilled engineer, with at least 4years experience gained within a manufacturing environment. An understanding of electrical / pneumatic drawings is desirable

You will also be determined, resourceful, and with the ability to lead, manage and motivate.
