Avionics SupervisorContract: 12 MonthsBased: RAF ConingsbyHourly Rate: £32.00 PAYE or £43.04 Umbrella (inside ir35)37 Hours per week x 4 daysShifts: 7am - 4:30pm / 4:30 – 2:30am  OverviewBAE Systems  are looking for an experienced and skilled Aircraft Technician to join their team at RAF Coningsby.  The ideal candidate will undertake a range of detailed maintenance activities on aircraft and components, demonstrating a strong ability in diagnostics and troubleshooting    Skills 
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent.
  • Minimum qualification: City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent.
  • Must hold a B2 Licence.
  • Extensive experience in Typhoon Q and Typhoon Maintenance is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Depth Maintenance documentation (ESS/IMS) and associated toolsets.
  • Strong understanding of quality procedures, processes, and specifications within an Approved Maintenance Organisation (MAOS MIL Pt145).
    The Job
  • Perform detailed maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on aircraft or components, ensuring airworthiness.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring work is completed to schedule and according to safety standards.
  • Manage and monitor performance against delivery targets at a tactical level, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve faults, conduct repairs, modifications, and system tests, ensuring work meets the approved technical standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to your team, helping to develop their skills through formal assessments, training, and on-the-job experience.
  • Maintain compliance with Part 145 procedures, including documentation of all activities and management of airworthiness records.
  • Promote safety and risk management within the team, managing hazards proactively.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in reviews and escalating issues as necessary.
