Description
As the Materials Planner you will be responsible for:
- Developing an effective material planning strategy to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
- Liaising with internal departments to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
- Implementing measures to minimise material wastage and surplus.
- Maintaining accurate records of material supplies, orders, and costs.
- Addressing any issues or discrepancies in material supplies promptly and efficiently.
- Regularly reviewing market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations in all material handling processes.
Profile
The successful Materials Planner should have:
- Previously worked in a similar planning position within manufacturing - ESSENTIAL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - ESSENTIAL
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities - ESSENTIAL
- Proficiency in supply chain software and MS Office Suite - ESSENTIAL
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - ESSENTIAL
- A degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field - DESIRABLE
