GSL Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team in Lincoln. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for working with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), whether you are looking to develop your career in education or continue your journey supporting young people with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning disabilities, and other needs

  • Assist the class teacher in adapting and delivering the curriculum in a way that supports students’ individual learning styles

  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment by promoting independence and encouraging participation

  • Support students’ social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence and manage behaviour

  • Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement personalised learning plans and ensure students are achieving their full potential

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school, care, or support environment

  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to helping students overcome challenges

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents

  • A team player who can collaborate effectively with staff across the school

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:
  • A qualification in SEND or relevant experience (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification, Youth Work, Psychology, etc.)

  • Experience in behaviour management strategies

  • Experience working with a variety of SEND, including SEMH, Autism, and ADHD
