Randstad Student Support are recruiting for Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with autistic students studying in Bishop Grosseteste university (Lincoln).

The role has already begun and is a hybrid role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University or college and offer both in person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.

As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan that has been tailored to the student"s needs and encourages them to become an independent learner.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and build on students' learning strengths
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in creating individual learning plans
  • Experience with various research methods and referencing styles
  • Ability to foster independence and self-advocacy in students
  • Experience managing a caseload of students


Qualifications

This specialist role requires a strong academic background and relevant training in supporting autistic adults. To meet the requirements of the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA), candidates must:

  • Hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree (Level 6).
  • Possess a teaching qualification.
  • Have completed extensive training in adult autism, such as:
    • 6 National Autistic Society Modules (non-medical helper package), or
    • The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
