Financial Accountant - Tax

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant - Tax to join a Liverpool-based Housing Association. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual with a strong background in Tax to lead the Tax function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Group Head of Financial Compliance and Tax to develop an efficient and effective tax function for the Group.
  • Support the business in implementing tax-efficient services.
  • Manage tax compliance for the Group, including VAT, CIS, corporation tax, and SDLT.
  • Ensure timely submission of all Group-related tax returns.
  • Maintain meticulous control processes for accurate tax reporting.
  • Work with the Finance team to identify and implement service improvements.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and performance monitoring systems throughout the Group.
  • Implement and maintain tax-compliant systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting qualification or Part qualified (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent tax qualification).
  • Proven experience in tax accounting or a similar role.
  • Thorough understanding of UK tax laws and regulations, particularly around CIS and VAT returns.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
