New Vacancy: Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be exclusively supporting a growing SME organisation in Liverpool who are keen to appoint a senior Financial Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.
Due to a recent promotion, this is an ideal role for a first time mover who has recently qualified, ACA, ACCA.
You will be joining an award winning business and directly support a Big 4 trained Financial Accountant who will support your journey and mentor you.
The successful applicant will be a sharp cookie who is keen to progress their career, providing much needed financial support and analysis to the senior leadership team. Overseeing the daily transactions and ensuring all financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation and VAT returns are all accurately recorded.
Experience of supervising others, providing training, direction and support would be advantageous.
A self-motivated team player who is ambitious and keen to develop their career is required.
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:
- Being a pivotal member of the finance team whilst preparing monthly financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders
- Supervising a team of four, ensuring best practice, training and delegation of workloads
- Support month end close, review the accounts, balance sheet and produce weekly cash flow forecast
- Taking ownership of controls, get involved in projects, process improvements, automation
- Championing finance across the business and business partnering
- Preparation of the quarterly VAT calculations, ensuring full compliance with VAT legislation
- Undertake quality reviews of the team's work to ensure standards and deadlines are met
- Ensure accurate financial records are maintained on our general ledger and supporting systems
- Management of the team in day-to-day operations, providing guidance and training where required to contribute to the development of team members
The ideal applicant, will be:
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), seeking a permanent job in Liverpool
- A full trained, technical accountant who has worked in practice
- Pro-active and self motivated with a proven track record taking ownership
- Be a team player with excellent leadership skills and the ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
- A conscientious individual with excellent attention to detail
- Possess excellent communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively across the wider business
- Solid experience of MS Excel and knowledge of ERP
