The businessNigel Wright is delighted to be supporting a global leading manufacturing business in the Northwest in search of an account assistant.With over 80y ears of expertise the business continues to expand its portfolio, operating in more than 70 locations in Europe, North America and North Africa.RoleReporting to the senior management accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency on the purchase and sales ledger processes.Duties include: 
  • Manage end-to-end processes for both sales and purchase ledgers
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain payment approvals
  • Reconcile supplier statements and handle incoming mail
  • Close accounting periods and generate ledger reports
  • Perform credit control duties as needed
  • Process company credit card transactions, ensuring correct VAT treatment
  • Set up new suppliers and conduct VAT compliance checks
  • Manage intercompany invoicing and quarterly reconciliations
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
PersonExperience and Qualifications:
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Excel and accounting systems
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification – AAT
  • Experience working in a fast pace finance function
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
