Liverpool City Council's Children & Young People Services team is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Senior Business Support Officer to join their Contract and Commissioning Team in the Alternative Provision Service.
This business-critical role is ideal for an experienced administrator with strong financial skills and a background in education or social care commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:-
Coordinate a wide range of educational and social care placements, including schools, tuition, online learning, and residential settings

Manage financial administration: raise limit orders, process invoices, handle uplifts, and maintain accurate SAP records

Liaise with finance, procurement, and other departments to ensure compliance with audit and commissioning regulations

Track and report on placement data and contract performance using systems such as Capita and Liquid Logic

Support commissioning activities, including follow-ups, quality assurance processes, minute-taking, and report preparation

Proven experience as a Business Support Officer or similar administrative/finance role

Proficient in SAP and general financial systems

Experience in public sector commissioning is desirable

Strong organisational, data management, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
