Are you an engineer who thrives on keeping things running smoothly - with a sharp eye on reliability, compliance, and performance?
If you're the kind of person who brings structure, order, and a problem-solving mindset to every shift, this could be your next move.
In this role, you'll be the go-to for root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and delivering real, practical solutions that make a difference on the shop floor. Your impact will be felt across both engineering and operations.
Whether you're already in the FMCG or food production space, or come from another fast-paced environment, this role offers a step up, especially if you're ready to lead or have already taken on some team leadership.
What you'll be doing:
- Keeping lines running smoothly by monitoring equipment performance and spotting opportunities to cut downtime.
- Putting smart, structured maintenance plans in place to keep machinery in top shape
- Using root cause analysis to dig into breakdowns and downtime, uncovering trends and driving real improvements.
- Taking a detailed, data-driven approach to tracking and improving equipment reliability.
- Making sure the CMMS is up to date and used effectively - so issues are logged, tracked, and acted on.
- Leading and developing a direct report, supporting their growth and performance.
- Ensuring all engineering work meets high standards for food safety, health & safety, and compliance.
- Staying ahead of spare parts and inventory needs, so you're never caught out.
- Collaborating closely with production teams to fix problems fast and keep operations moving.
What will you have covered in your background for this role?
- Engineering experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similarly fast-moving environment.
- Some hands-on leadership or supervisory experience, or are you ready to take that next step.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance routines, compliance expectations, and safety practices.
- Someone practical, solutions-focused, and grounded, able to roll up their sleeves when needed.
- A great team player who leads by example and works well across departments.
- Ideally electrically biased but not essential. If you have a mechanical background training can be provided.
- Confident using CMMS systems and comfortable with a reliability-led approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
There is a strong wider team to work alongside allowing for mentoring and coaching opportunities. If this sounds like the ideal role for you, please apply with our cv and we can take it from there.
