A well-established analytical laboratory is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join their team.
The role requires candidates to have at least 2 years of experience with techniques such as Combustion Ion Chromatography and Carbon/Sulphur analysis.
Responsibilities include preparing samples, conducting routine testing in accordance with ISO 17025:2017 standards, and maintaining laboratory instruments.
The position offers a competitive salary of £30,000 to £35,000, along with excellent career progression opportunities and flexible working hours.
Candidates will also support Health & Safety compliance and contribute to the improvement of lab practices while mentoring colleagues as needed.

A well established analytical laboratory is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join their team.

As the ideal candidate you will be responsible for preparing and accurately weighing samples for analysis, carrying out routine testing in line with ISO 17025:2017 standards. You will operate and perform basic maintenance on laboratory instruments, ensuring all results are recorded accurately using laboratory IT systems. You'll also support Health & Safety compliance, maintain a clean and organised working environment, and manage your daily workload to meet turnaround targets. Additionally, you’ll contribute to the ongoing improvement of lab practices and may assist with training and mentoring colleagues as needed.

To be considered, candidates must have direct experience with at least one of the following techniques:

Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC) – for chlorine and fluorine analysis
Carbon/Sulphur analysis using Leco or Eltra instrumentation
Mercury analysis via direct combustion
Analysis of copper, zinc, or lead concentrates in a commercial laboratory setting
