About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a long-standing civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in the North West. Our client specialises in delivering groundwork packages for major residential housing developers and is now looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong groundwork and housing experience to oversee multiple live sites and play a key role in ongoing project delivery and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage several live groundwork projects across housing developments

  • Supervise and support site-based teams, engineers, and subcontractors

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards

  • Act as the main liaison between the client and site operations

  • Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings

  • Monitor project performance, cost tracking, and health & safety compliance

  • Work closely with commercial teams on variations, valuations, and final accounts

  • Assist in programming and resource planning

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Site Manager) within groundworks, preferably for residential housing developments

  • Strong technical knowledge across deep drainage, roads, foundations, and 278 works

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently

  • Experience working directly with national or regional housebuilders

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black or White), and First Aid certification

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
