Are you a detail-driven Credit Controller with a proactive mindset and a passion for maintaining healthy ledgers? Ashley Kate Finance are recruiting on behalf of a Liverpool-based client looking for a Credit Controller to join their growing finance team.

About the role:

As a key member of the Accounts Receivable team, you'll be responsible for overseeing credit control and ensuring accurate, timely cash collection. You'll play a crucial part in maintaining customer relationships and supporting wider finance operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily balancing of the sales ledger to nominal
  • Downloading sales invoices and preparing daily daybooks for management
  • Assessing creditworthiness of new and existing customers
  • Allocating and reconciling cash receipts promptly
  • Proactively chasing outstanding payments via phone and email
  • Sending out statements and responding to invoice requests
  • Liaising with internal teams to resolve customer queries
  • Supporting month-end close and attending regular credit meetings
  • Performing bank reconciliations across GBP, USD, and EUR accounts
  • Supporting wider finance tasks and ad hoc duties as needed

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a similar Credit Control role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Confident using accounting systems (Sage preferred)
  • Experience in the shipping or logistics industry is desirable but not essential
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach to collections and customer service
