Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Financial Reporting Manager to join a PE backed business in Liverpool. This leadership opportunity offers the chance to shape and drive strategic direction within a newly created finance function. With a focus on building a culture of operational excellence, control, and accuracy, this role is designed for a candidate who is passionate about driving efficiency, coaching teams, and delivering results.

The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Group Shared Services, key responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Manager will include:

  • Managing and optimising end-to-end financial reporting processes, such as journal postings, reconciliations, VAT and Balance Sheet controls and more.
  • Ensuring financial controls and compliance with internal policies and standards.
  • Hire, train and lead a team of finance professionals while championing best practices and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including Group Finance, auditors, and wider business units, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coaching and mentoring your team, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
  • Leveraging data and performance metrics to drive process improvements and achieve operational excellence.

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you'll need to bring the following qualifications and experiences:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred).
  • Strong financial controls background
  • Expert understanding of financial reporting processes, including intercompany reconciliations, fixed assets handling, and accounts close procedures.
  • A desire and willingness to take on supervisory responsibilities as the role progresses
  • A background in finance roles such as controller, technical accountant, or auditor, and a strong grasp of accounting standards and financial controls.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with clear and effective communication abilities.
