Randstad is proud to be partnering with Ford Halewood Transmissions to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Skilled Craftsman for the Heat Treat Department. As the first site in Europe to manufacture EV components, our Halewood facility is undergoing a significant transformation, and we are investing heavily in this innovative project. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the precision and quality of our components, contributing to the success of our electric vehicle ambitions.



What You'll Bring:

  • Completion of a Mechanical Level 4 Apprenticeship
  • Preferably, experience in a heat treat production environment, particularly working with high-temperature carburising furnaces


What You'll Be Doing:

As part of the Production Planned Maintenance Team, you'll play a critical role in keeping our equipment running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You'll be primarily assigned to the Heat Treatment department with a mechanical focus, supporting emergency, predictive, and preventive maintenance activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and executing preventive maintenance on machines and associated systems (mechanical, electrical, PLC, refrigeration)
  • Analysing data from maintenance actions to anticipate parts replacements or overhauls
  • Overhauling machine parts to reduce replacement costs
  • Identifying and implementing machine performance improvements and OEE optimisations
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of long-term fixes for breakdowns
  • Supporting 5 Whys analysis, continuous improvement projects, and Kaizen initiatives
  • Contributing to safety, environmental, and cost-reduction improvements
  • Stepping into the analyst role when required
