QHSE Manager
up to £55,000

A leading international manufacturing organisation supplying high-quality containers across the globe is looking for its first QHSE Manager. This is a brand-new role-a rare opportunity to make a real impact by designing, implementing, and owning the Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental strategy for the site.

Working closely with the UK Director, you will have the autonomy and support to put your own stamp on the role, develop systems and procedures from the ground up, and drive a proactive, safety-first culture across the site.

The role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of QHSE procedures and systems from scratch.
  • Set up and run internal audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance.
  • Own risk assessments and safety plans, including PUWER, DESEAR, and Legionella compliance.
  • Embed 5S and continuous improvement principles across the site.
  • Investigate incidents and customer complaints using 8D methodology.
  • Create and maintain quality documentation including FMEA, SOPs, and control plans.
  • Train and coach teams on safe systems of work and QHSE best practice.
  • Lead site waste and environmental controls, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage contractor safety, site inductions, and facilities inspections.
  • Develop and present QHSE KPIs and forecasts to the senior management team.
  • Opportunity to build best-in-class QHSE processes in a growing international business.
  • Be a visible leader on the shop floor, driving improvement where it counts.

Experience and Qualification

  • QHSE experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Proven experience leading audits and driving change on the shop floor.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • HACCP Level 4 (desirable)
  • Fire Marshal / Spill Response Certification (advantageous)

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of QHSE standards, legislation, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
  • A hands-on, practical approach and a visible presence on the shop floor.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and culture change.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems.

This is a fantastic opportunity to own and shape a critical function within a growing and stable business. If you're a proactive, motivated QHSE professional looking to take the lead and build something lasting-this is your chance.
