About the Role
The Supply Register is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to join Halewood Academy, a forward-thinking and inclusive school committed to ensuring that every student thrives.

We are looking for an individual who can lead, coordinate, and champion high-quality SEND provision across the school. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a supportive senior leadership team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.

 

Requirements:

  • NASENCO qualification
    OR

  • Extensive experience in a specialist SEND role, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation, effective interventions, and whole-school inclusion strategies

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • The ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, external agencies, and students

  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to ensuring excellent outcomes for learners with additional needs

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the school’s SEND provision and ensuring statutory requirements are met

  • Leading and supporting staff in effective SEND teaching and practice

  • Managing EHCP processes, reviews, interventions, and assessments

  • Working closely with pastoral teams, external professionals, and families

  • Driving inclusive practice and supporting positive student progress and wellbeing
