Assistant Systems Accountant required for one of our not for profit organisations based in Liverpool. The Assistant Systems Accountant will support with the development and implementation of the new finance system and will work closely with the Systems Accountant. To contribute to service improvements and play a vital part in delivering high-quality financial insights across the organisation.
Duties & Responsibilities;
- Assist the Systems Accountant on the development of existing and implementation of new financial systems and processes to ensure consistency and efficient processing of financial information.
- Assist with the development of financial reports for the Group that support decision making.
- Ensure systems controls are embedded and permissions are in line with approved limits.
- Liaise with internal departments in relation to developing an understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Ensure documented procedures are in place for all financial processes and assist with training for new and existing staff.
- Assist the Systems Accountant in the review and challenge existing systems and processes to improve efficiency through automation.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date.
- Assist with the assessment and implementation of new finance systems and processes
- Assist with ensuing financial controls, policies and procedures for the Group are adhered too.
- Support the development of an automation and self-service culture.
Skills & Knowledge;
- Ideally Part AAT qualified or equivalent
- Evidence of and commitment to continual professional, leadership and personal development
- Experience within supportinng through system/process development.
- Experience and understanding Finance processes.
- Evidence of assisting in providing high quality customer service
- Evidence of the importance of value for money in everyday operations
- High levels of IT literacy and an understanding of new ways of working
