Search have partnered with a business recruiting for a Payroll & HR Lead with professional to lead on core HR operations and in-house payroll delivery. This is a key role within a well-established People team during a time of digital transition and continued focus on people-centred service improvement. The successful candidate will be central to maintaining robust HR and payroll processes while contributing to strategic projects including the rollout of a new integrated HR/payroll platform.

Role Highlights:

  • Oversee internal payroll and pensions processing.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (SSP, SMP, PAYE, pensions) and support all year-end reconciliations.
  • Manage end-to-end HR administration, including contracts, changes, on-boarding and policy guidance.
  • Support line managers with employee relations queries including absence, performance and conduct.
  • Generate HR and payroll data insights to inform decision-making and reporting.
  • Play a key role in systems development and process improvement aligned with the wider people strategy.
  • Support the transaction of a new payroll system integration



Your Profile:

  • CIPD Level qualified (or equivalent experience) with a solid grounding in both HR operations and in-house payroll.
  • Comfortable managing multiple deadlines, high-volume data, and sensitive information with care and accuracy.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strong technical skills in Excel and payroll/HR systems.
