Transport Manager - Merseyside / North West

Are you an experienced Transport Manager with a passion for operational excellence and customer delivery?
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing, independent logistics business supporting major blue-chip clients across the UK and Europe.

You'll take full ownership of transport operations across a busy warehouse and distribution network - leading a skilled team, ensuring compliance, and driving performance across cost, safety, and service delivery.

The Role

  • Lead day-to-day UK and international transport operations for a leading warehousing & distribution business
  • Manage driver teams, planners, and coordinators to deliver best-in-class performance
  • Ensure full compliance with O Licence, DVSA, and legislative requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with large blue-chip customers, delivering against SLAs and KPIs
  • Oversee route planning, fleet utilisation, and cost control
  • Champion continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and safety standards
  • Provide strong commercial input to budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance

About You

  • CPC in Transport Management (UK & International) is essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing transport operations in a warehouse/distribution or 3PL environment
  • Proven success working with large blue-chip clients and meeting high service expectations
  • Experience running an RDC or NDC for an independent haulier would be an advantage
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong grasp of compliance, fleet optimisation, and customer relationship management
