A specialist primary SEND school in Wavertree is looking for compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team, supporting pupils in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 who have significant learning, physical and medical needs.
This is an incredibly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help children feel safe, included and ready to learn while being part of a supportive, experienced school team.
What the role involves
Supporting children with complex medical needs in a primary classroom setting
Assisting with personal care, including toileting and changing
Helping pupils with mobility, positioning and physical support
Working alongside nurses, therapists and teachers to follow individual medical and care plans
Using communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS or BSL
Creating a calm, nurturing environment for children with sensory, physical and cognitive needs
Building trust, confidence and meaningful relationships with pupils and families
