Description
Key Responsibilities- Design modular steel frames using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to understand and translate project requirements into engineering solutions.
- Conduct structural calculations and basic FEA to validate designs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, BS5950, BS EN 1090).
- Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the integration of other systems into frames, including electrical and HVAC components.
Profile
Essential Skills:- Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software - SolidWorks preferred.
- Experience designing steel structures or modular frames.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and welding standards.
- Understanding of structural mechanics and load path design.
- Ability to produce technical documentation to support manufacturing and compliance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and BS EN 1090 quality standards.
- Experience working within the modular building or container conversion industries.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
- Familiarity with project management tools or systems.
- Site experience or exposure to manufacturing environments.
