Are you an experienced investigator with a passion for protecting vulnerable people and improving investigative standards? Operation Hydrant is seeking dedicated Review Officers to support and coordinate peer reviews and investigative assessments into non-recent child sexual abuse and exploitation cases.

We are looking for Ex Police Officers to join in new contract roles that have the potential to go on for over 3 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate national peer reviews into institutional and high-profile abuse investigations
  • Lead logistical arrangements for reviews requested by police forces across the UK
  • Assess and prepare referrals for the National Child Sexual Abuse Review Panel
  • Produce detailed and accurate review reports
  • Support national CPD delivery and maintain SIO guidance documents
  • Travel across England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in reviewing criminal investigations and writing detailed reports
  • ICIDP qualification or equivalent detective accreditation
  • Background in serious and complex crime investigations, particularly child protection
  • Strong partnership working and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with major crime investigation principles and HOLMES
  • Experience working with the Crown Prosecution Service and other agencies
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally
